Ear infection or tinnitus?

I somewhat have symtpoms for both tinnitus and an ear infection. I did used to listen to loud music, but not always. So I'm stuck.

But my ear is in SO much pain, it burns, throbs, aches, everything! I hear crackles too in my ear but I read thats because of fluid for an infection and crackling can be heard for tinnitus too…so yeah..

How can I tell if I have an ear infection or tinnitus? Help please? D:
