Start with the simple things first. If he is lying on his back when he is snoring, gently turn him over onto his side. That usually stops it. Some people actually sew tennis balls into the back of pajama tops so if the person lies on their back during the night they will automatically turn. Breath-Right Strips can help if the problem is a nasal obstruction, but otherwise they won't help. If the snoring continues despite your efforts, you will want him to see the family doctor for a recommendation to either an ear-nose-throat doctor or a sleep disorder specialist. I'm going through this struggle right now. Word of warning: He probably will refuse to go.

have him get a sleep study test. this is where your husband will sleep while being monitored by techs or nurses. they will be able to test for apnea, which causes snoring and can be very harmful to the body as apneaproduces periods of not breathing which depriv e the body of oxygen (bad). if he is positive for sleep apnea, they can get him a machine such as a bipap or cpap which provides him with additional oxygen while he sleeps which counteracts the apnea and makes sure he gets the oxygen he needs.

Those Breathe Right Nasal Strips are an unobtrusive thing to try. They open the air passages and are supposed to help. You can buy them at any drug store. Or just smack him all night.

there are strips he can wear on his nose that can help. many companies offer free samples to try them out. just google snoring strips.

separate bedrooms

shove a sock in his mouth…

push his off the bed…

smother him with a pillow…

sleep in the other room…

try breathe right nasal strips. sleep study. surgery. stuff a sock in his mouth (just kidding)
